The Science Behind a Popular Healthy Habit

Filed under: News and Views - 27 Aug 2009

Lately, its like everybody has been on a green tea binge, and its an incredibly good healthy habit. I am so very excited about all the positive research about the benefits of green tea. The great reports keep coming out. But, you might not want to believe me. Because I’m no “expert” in the field, just a beauty goddess who does her research. (You probably didn’t know that there was actually my official title, did you?) Here is a small list of widely available, peer-reviewed information:

2001 International Journal of Cancer
Green tea is well known for helping prevent many different chronic diseases. This study was conducted using people for analysis. There were mice or fish studied with green tea. These were real people who live in China.

2003 International Journal of Cancer
Green tea can also hinder angiogenesis and some forms of cancer. If angiogenesis is occurring in your blood cells then cancer can also develop. The healthy habit of green tea can actually help inhibit the growth of cancer already in existence.

2006 Journal of American Medical Association
Green tea also contributes to a decreased cancer deaths. This was a study that showed that people who drank green tea usually tended to have lower death rates from cancer. In a nutshell, green tea basically appears to help them avoid or recover from cancer better.

2009 American Journal of Epidemiology
Blood and lymph cancers can be held at bay by green tea. There has been a new study released from Japan stating that by drinking 5 cups of green tea daily you will reduce you chances of getting these cancers by up to 50 percent.

There are literally thousand of more reasons to drink green tea.

As you can see, green tea is one of the healthiest habits you can have. If not already a habit, start drinking green tea now and make it a habit. Trust me — it’s a lot better (and a lot better for you) than trying to start nibbling your nails or twirling your hair! You can make your own or take it as a supplement. Taste disgusting? Take it in capsule form. Your will live longer and healthier by indulging in this healthiest of habits.

3. Try masking it with sugar free gum.

The deconstruction of fat into ketones (which creates ketosis) is the core success goal in a low-carb diet. As the element is transferred to one’s saliva or urine waste, the result is very bad breath. Getting plenty of fluids will help to thin out the ketones that are present in your body. Chewing fresh parsley may also help. Chronic bad breath may be a symptom of something worse, such as diabetes.  Visit your doctor for more information.

how do i cure bad breath

Also included in the causes, bad breath can occur due to heavy consumption of protein in a diet. This is a result of ketones building up in the circulatory system. Ketones are a result of the body process that uses fat for fuel rather than carbohydrates. Ketones  generate an odor As if bad breath were not enough, you will also smell in your perspiration and urine. A great way of removing excess ketones is to drink plenty of water.  This will allow them to leave the body via urine, while diluting those present in your mouth.

Ketones often come up in the same conversation as diabetes. If you are struggling to control diabetes, or you think you may have diabetes that is not yet diagnosed then you should contact your doctor. Ketones can build up in a diabetic’s blood which could quickly lead to a life threatening situation.
