Filed under: Benefits, Tips - 31 Jul 2007

There are really so many different advantages and benefits that you will receive from providing a high fiber diet for yourself and odds are that you in fact are not even aware of the serious dangers that you are putting yourself in by not eating a diet that is full enough of fiber.

Why You Need a High Fiber Diet

There are so many different reasons as to why you need a high fiber diet, and the majority of the reasons have to do with your colon. Colon cancer is, after all, a major health concern for everyone these days, and it is largely caused by a lack of fiber in the diet.

How To Create a High Fiber Diet for Yourself

Most people tend to think that a high fiber diet has to consist of bland and disgusting foods, but this is certainly not true at all. In fact, the foods that have the most fiber of all in them are the foods that you most likely eat and enjoy already, just not enough.

High Fiber Chocolate Bars

Filed under: Benefits, Fiber Rich Foods - 26 Jul 2007

When you are trying to lose weight, it can be hard to find the right foods to eat. Most people, when they are trying to lose weight, will choose diet foods or low-fat foods. However, these foods that are packaged as diet foods often contain sugar or other substances designed to give the foods more flavor and to make them more tempting for the consumer. All that sugar and all of those other substances only increase the calorie content of the foods as well as make your blood sugar rise, leaving you feeling edgy, ornery and even hungrier. The rise in blood sugar often makes a person eat more than they should, which goes against the reason they reached for the diet food in the first place. High fiber chocolate bars are the solution to this very frustrating diet scenario.

High fiber chocolate bars contain everything you need to feel full faster, longer and they taste great; everything you’re looking for in a healthy, high-powered snack. You can find high fiber chocolate bars sold in your local nutrition outlet or you can even order them over the internet. Sometimes, it’s best to order them in bulk because you can get them for cheaper. However, be warned that you should first try a particular brand of high fiber chocolate bar before you buy in bulk. You don’t want to load on a particular bar only to find out that you don’t like the taste. Not all high fiber chocolate bars are created equal. Some don’t taste as good as the others and some are just plain old chocolate bars.

High Fiber Cereals

Filed under: Fiber Rich Foods, Tips - 20 Jul 2007

The thought of eating a high fiber cereal makes some people cringe. In the past many high fiber cereals had no flavor and were often described as eating chopped up cardboard. In recent years the health industry has done many studies that have shown great benefits to eating whole grains and a high fiber diet.

With these studies at the forefront of the health food industry, other cereal producers have gone to great lengths to join in the production of whole grain, high fiber cereals. This has made the selection of high fiber cereals almost confusing in their quantity but does insure that the consumer can find a cereal that is both tasty and healthy. The highest fiber cereals still have some taste issues but there are many cereals with adequately high fiber that have great taste.

High Fiber: Benefits and Diets

Filed under: Benefits, Types of Diet - 13 Jul 2007

High fiber diets are wonderful for everyone’s health. Fiber is crucial to keep the digestive system running smoothly and efficiently. This is especially true within the colon and intestines. Most people assume that they have enough fiber in their diets, but this is simply untrue. While most people do get a minimal amount of fiber, it is important to try and get at least the recommended daily amount of fiber. High fiber diets will improve digestive health.

Digestion begins as soon as food enters the mouth. Saliva helps to begin the breakdown process. High fiber foods contain insoluble fiber and many contain soluble fiber. Soluble fiber flows right through the body, which means no calories, plus added benefit from the fiber. Fiber keeps the digestive tract moving by creating a softer, bulkier stool that passes more easily from the body. This helps to control such problems as constipation, diarrhea, and gas. These are embarrassing problems that are easy to manage with a high fiber diet.
